Why I'm Writing

It all started with an episode of Lenny's Podcast—one of the best (if not the best) resources for Product Managers. In an interview with Kevin Yien, something he said clicked instantly: writing is the most important skill for a PM. If you can't write to sell the product, why should you build the product?

That was enough to push me to start writing. But there was more. The conversation also touched on how becoming a better writer doesn't mean reading thousands of PRDs. Instead, it's about consuming compelling scripts—the kind that drives action. It's about, as they put it, eating a lot of content. This idea reminded me of something from Matthew Dicks' book Someday Is Today, where he shares 22 creative ways to improve—many of them revolving around constant consumption and production of ideas.

So, here I am. Writing. Not for an audience, not for validation, but for myself.

I want to keep a record of the content that inspires me, to connect the dots between the books, interviews, and university courses I've been absorbing. Writing helps me shape my thoughts, refine my understanding, and see patterns I might have otherwise missed.

But who knows? Maybe, someday, someone will stumble upon these articles. Maybe they'll find something that sparks a thought, a shift, a small step toward the life they dream of. If that happens, I'll be glad I decided to start.
